Must Have a Car in Barrington - 10/23/2009 |

| The best thing in Barrington is the Metra Train, which will take you 50 minutes to Chicago Eastbound or you can take the train to historic Woodstock! Otherwise, you HAVE to have a car (and everyone does)! Traffic can be a nightmare, since Rte. 59 is only 2 lanes and freight trains do go through Barrington - you just never know how long it may take to get to a destination! There is a Baskin-Robbins, Starbucks and a Jewel Food Store downtown, but parking is a challenge! Many residents have been, born & raised here. Lots of "Nannies", Supersize SUV's & "keeping up with the Joneses"! Image is very important. Catlow Theatre is a great little historic Theatre. If you are looking for a town with lots to offer, check out Crystal Lake!!

Barrington is such a safe to live. The best schools, very involved moms that stay home. A bit of materialism, but good, wholesome midwest values.[read more...]
