Religous practices in the Rockford area

The Rockford area resembles a "large small-town" where many people know one another and hold traditional values. Among the latter is the practice of religion. Churches abound and about 50% of the population belong to an organized faith group. Among church-goers, the largest numbers are Roman Catholic (44%), Lutheran (19%), Methodist (7%), Assemblies of God (5%), and Baptist (4%). (Data from www.thearda.com.)
