| The restaurants in the Maitland and Orlando area are terrible. The chains dominate and small family owned restaurants have a hard time. If you move here plan on cooking your own food or eating at Darden restaurants.

| Very nice, housing can be expensive. - 9/14/2010
I moved from Savannah GA and lived in Maitland over a year. The 2b/2b apartment that we rented off of Lake Lily was over $1200/ month. Our electricity bill for our 1,000 sqft apartment was over $200/ month...which we found to be a bit much. The people in Maitland are friendly for the most part...however 4 apartments on our hall were robbed during the last few months we lived there which made safety questionable. We did enjoy all of the outdoor activities that took place at Lake Lily including the Sunday farmers market and festivals. Once our lease was up, we found it impossible to find a rental in Maitland that was less than $1300+. [read more...]
