Coast of Living - 8/14/2006

I believe that the taxes are high if you live on the water, but inland they are less than Duval county. Unless you have a cdd charge in your neighborhood for protecting the preserve then they are not bad. Depends on where you want to live and what kind of community you live in and if you want a nice neighborhood with golf.

Nice Weather and Pretty Beaches - 8/14/2006

We love it here in St Augustine Beautiful place to live and a lot of History and things to do. The Beaches are beautiful and the deep sea fishing is great. We are about 35 to 40 miles outside of DT Jacksonville. Golfing is a number one sport and in our community we have had guest such as Tiger Woods and others play on our Golf Course.

Property taxes and insurance out of control. - 8/4/2006

Property taxes and insurance are outrageously high. If you can afford them, this is a nice place to retire. Not much in the way of high paying jobs. Mostly service work.

Great City, Love It! - 3/24/2006

I currently live in a neighorborhood known as Palencia, which is about 25 minutes outside of Jacksonville and about 10 minutes from downtown Saint Augustine I simply love it. The community is safe and clean, great for relaxing and keeping in shape, the property values are steady, a bargain, and very secure. If your looking for a great place to retire or just avoiding the hassle of a big city then pack your bags and come on down. Danny
