Eh, could be better - 2/14/2024
I mean, its getting better. It has good schools. If you need to live near Atlanta, but can't afford a closer suburb its fine. But its far enough that you will never want to go to Atlanta of your own accord. Read More

Woodstock mostly ROCKS - 10/15/2017
Woodstock is fast becoming unaffordable and very artsy fartsy with a lot of retired baby boomers-IT IS GREAT WHEN THE TIME OF DAY ISNT RUSH HOUR-IT DIES AFTER 9PM THROUGH THE WEEK. I BOTH LOVE AND HATE WOODSTOCK BUT MOSTLY LOVE IT. RESTURANTS LEAVE ALOT TO BE DESIRED-BASICALLY ITS ONE OF THE BEST TOWNS IN Read More

Tons of Traffic and Hotter than Hades - 3/18/2017
We have lived in Woodstock, for about 16 years.
It is quickly becoming over crowded and the roads can not handle the on slot of people moving here.
It takes 30-40 minutes to go approx 5 miles, during rush hour, in Town Lake alone.
We are trying to get out of here asap.Read More

Woodstock Has Changed for the Worse ... - 6/25/2012
I moved from Florida to Georgia and made Woodstock my home. The cost of living was extremely affordable, had a good reputation and had a small town feel. NOW ... the traffic on I-575 is terrible, the city has grown, people have changed, it's all about the money you have (especially the Towne Lake and Bridgemill areas). It used to have a sense of a small town feel and no longer feel that. People are cold unless you happen to have small young children and you are a stay at home mom, where your husband works and brings in the $$. The summers are hot and humid and the spring and fall don't last long. I can't wait to move away to a place where people are friendlier and there is a sense of community.  Read More

Great City! - 2/10/2011
This is our third move due to job relocations and we absolutely love Woodstock. We are from "the north", yet feel very welcome here even though we are not conservative or baptist. Everyone in our neighborhood seems to be transplants, so they are very welcoming and understanding of new families to the area. I have met a lot of new mom's at the library and swimming at the pools. Although shopping is limited, everyone employed at the stores in the area are very helpful and respectful. We love it here and believe me - there have been a few other places we have resided that we were not too fond of.
You can't beat seeing deer and turkeys in your backyard, living 15 minutes away from a lake, and 30 or 40 minutes from Atlanta.
Love it!!! Read More

Outsiders Not Welcome! - 7/21/2010
We chose Woodstock three years ago, after living in many other places, because it looked nice and friendly and accessible. Wrong! The only thing accessible is the shopping, but you usually have to go to Roswell, Marietta or Atlanta if you want to shop in something other than Walmart. The people are CLOSED to friendships, for adult and child newcomers alike. They already have their friends and extended families and don't need you, unless you are Southern, conservative, attend their baptist church every week, and share all of the same Read More

Good place to grow up but changed alottttttt - 5/6/2010
I've lived there since I was 3 years old and I'm now 19. I moved to Panama City,Fl and I do miss Woodstock. The reason why I moved was worth it. As a young resident I've experinced the younger scene. People there are very judgemental and most are rich. The gas prices goes up and down throughout the year, but the traffic isn't bad just during the rush hours from atl and back. There is a poor side odviously, but alot of drugs that happen here. Don't expect much from the cops. They're very strict here. You will drive 5 miles and see at least 5 cops driving and ones on the side (plus one or two cars pulled over). A good variety of restaurants and schools tho. Not too much crime either. It's pretty safe. Jobs there are bad tho. Unemployment are everywhere. It's gotten a lilttle bit better, but its still bad and they havent done much to help. It's a spread out place, but is still growing alot. Nice environment too with trees everywhere. It is mostly 87% white population and barely any black Read More
