Land of Opportunity - 3/12/2007
While Arkansas prides itself on being the "land of opportunity" there are few luxuries. Long travel times are required to shop or do other recreational things since the area I live in is so isolated. Returning Home after a long journey - 9/10/2006
What can I say about Newport? Well it is where I grew up and somewhere I call home. I have been away since November of 2000 and I have been back a few times only to leave again. A long 6 year journey that has seen me go off to war twice, get married, have a son, get divorced, then get re-married. In the last 6 years Newport has changed some for the good and some for the bad. But that is the way of the universe and change is inevitable. when I was younger all I wanted to do was leave as fast as possible and get out and see the world. Now 6 years and many many life altering experiences later I am ready to return home and hopefully reconnect with a life interrupted by the winds of history. No matter how things have changed in Newport, good or bad its still where I call home in the end and I cannot wait to sit on my front porch and relax after the journey is over.[read more...] |
