SperlingViews - Aptos, California

We've lived in Aptos/Rio Del Mar for many years and it's a very lovely, peaceful village far from the rat race . The views of the ocean are stunning and the shopping in Aptos is limited but excellent and unique. There are several upscale European boutiques with interesting clothes...not at all stuffy. Restaurants in the old village such as Cafe Sparrow are truly excellent, as is Bittersweet Bistro. The Blues Festival is fabulous. We also love the old pub in the village. It feels like we live in a mixture of of an old English village in California, which for us is perfect! It's not cheap to live here, but as a result our neighbors are interesting working professionals, university professors, world travelers and local business owners. It's a very special community of thriving individuals, couples and families with very little crime. A great place to raise a family, we spend most weekends at the beach or hiking in the redwoods.[read more...]
