Cameron Park (pop 16k and shares it’s zip 95682 with Shingle Springs) is in the Northern California foot hills off hwy 50 about 45 minutes east of Sacramento and 1 hour west of Lake Tahoe. Cameron Park has the small country feel with large city amenities within minutes. We have mild winters but may get a dusting of snow once in a while and we have dry warm summers. Recreation is all around Cameron Park with hiking, swimming, fishing, boating, golf plus a great new rec center with activities for both adults and kids of all ages. Housing cost in Cameron Park is reasonable for California but the utilities are a bit higher than the surrounding areas. The crime rate here is very low and you feel safe to walk around at night. All in all, Cameron Parke is a great place to live and bring up a family. [read more...]
