I live in Goleta and work part-time in Santa Barbara. I am semi-retired and have a decent income. Making wise choices of where to spend my income has always been important to me. At this time and place in my life, there isn't much of a choice whether or not I pay my water, electric, phone, insurance, gas, rent, gasoline and so forth. I find that I have almost no discretionary income since moving to California one year ago. This place abounds in sunny days and beaches to sun on, lots of cultural amenities, subjects to study, and all sorts of festivals and special events.
