Pristine and Costly - 3/13/2010

Mill Valley is a perfect place to live and raise a family, if you don't mind a cost of living index of 233. Don't distress - go mountain biking or hiking with 360-degree views of the Pacific ocean and Bay Area.[read more...]

California Gold - 3/11/2008

The gold is going out, not coming in. This is one of the most expensive places in the U.S. to live. Even minor household items are greatly inflated. My Home Town - 2/29/2008

I grew up in Mill Valley. I went to Park Elementary School and Tamalpias High School. I have wonderful memories of Mill Valley and Marin. The mountains, fresh air, slow pace, safe (well back in the 60s it was)San Francisco right over the bridge, Sausalito etc.. We never had a car but it wasn't a problem it was just a perfect place to grow up.I visit once in a while, it's different now but I live on my childhood memories and it will always be home for me. My dream is to some day be able to live there again, we'll see.....[read more...]

It Used to Be Paradise - 11/17/2006

I was raised in Mill Valley and lived there or nearby for 30+ years. I always thought it was paradise until it got too expensive. Former celebrities, former dot-com gazillionaires and yuppies ruined it. It doesn't seem fair but it seems more middle-class, native Californians like me have to live elsewhere to survive. I had to move out-of-state to find an affordable place to live. I sure miss it but not the Rat Race it's become![read more...]

Mill Valley - 8/19/2005

Mill Valley is beautiful. The two problems with it are: Too expensive for the average citizen to live, and a bit snooty. Mill Valley is located in Marin County which is known for great schools, liberal attitude, and the beautiful land. Marin definately has all of these, but lacks diversity (both ethnically and socioeconomically). From my experience Mill Valley specifically has proven that the rich stay rich, and the poor must find elsewhere to live...[read more...]
