Morro Bay is mostly a small,quiet,working fishing and retirement community.It is located approximately 12 miles north of San Luis Obispo,Ca.The weather here is mild most of the year,right now(late January)we have days in the upper 50's to low 70's,nights in 30's and 40's.Everything is green from recent rain,while the rest of the country is getting an Artic blast.This county has several MICRO CLIMATES,as terrain varies from coastal beaches to higher elevations just minutes away, inland.This is a beautiful place to live,with lots of varied things to do,but, real estate is thru the roof and California taxes Read More

Beautiful area, right on the ocean, cool huge rock in the water. I love the small, walkable community and the farmers market is awesome. The temperature is always between 60-75 degrees. Morro Bay/San Luis Obispo area is one of the few areas left in california that is beautiful but does not have tons of people and traffic. The downsides of Morro Bay are the fog and the cost of living. It is often overcast because we're right on the ocean. If that bothers you, San Luis Obispo is a better place to live, because it is still mild weather and is sunny almost always in the summer and still only about 15 minutes from the beach. This is a very anti-growth area with lots of environmentalists, for better or for worse.

Certainly this is the most pleasant place I've ever lived and I've lived in different areas of CA, Pennsylvania, Arkansas, Mississippi, Utah, and Connecticut. There is not much industry though (because it's so anti-growth) so it's next to impossible to find a Read More
