It doesn't get any better than this...for safety, - 2/21/2010
Orinda is an extremely safe, quiet, bucolic place to live. The schools are incredible, parent participation is maximal. It's close to everything and yet has a feeling of being far away from the congestion. BART to San Francisco in a few stops. Drive over the Bay Bridge to San Francisco on a lazy Sunday in 20 minutes. 30 minutes from Sausalito and North Bay. Less than 10 minutes to Berkeley and Oakland, where there are a ton of cheap, excellent restaurants (dinner for $10-15!) Close to parks, Napa, easy access to the mountains. The climate is mild, but warm enough for a swimming pool in the summer.
What's not to like? The big pieces of property mean that neighbors sometimes don't know each other. I grew up in the Midwest and miss that closeness.[read more...] |

Orinda in general - 10/13/2008
Being ranked the number one public high school system in California says little for this small rural upscale community. With a high percentage of college graduates with advanced or graduate degrees, Orinda offers a very small town atmosphere along with a strong feeling of communal pride. Exclusive neighborhoods and country clubs abound this scenic town nestled into the wilderness of the east side of the Oakland hills. Private golf and tennis clubs, a minimal amount of usable vacant land, very low crime and an excellent school system keep home prices in Orinda on an average of well into the million mark. If you happen to be in the market to purchase a home in Orinda please contact me.
Thank you,
