Not a city for those who like to walk - 5/9/2007
Denver is a car city. There are a few small neighborhoods that accomodate a pedestrian lifestyle, buy most of the city is sprawled out and requires a car to get around. There is a rudimentary light rail system and bus lines, but the city has a long way to go to have a pedestrian inner core that is vibrant, interesting, and user friendly to its population. The central business district, or downtown, lacks a grocery store, a department store, or any of the daily convenience necessities that make an urban center livable.
