Life in Colchester - 12/20/2009
Colchester to me is a perfect place to live. Although it is about a 30 minute drive to most stores, it has a lot to offer, and especially if you have children. There is a playground that is open to the public, and is free. The schools here are pretty good, and have a lot of programs to offer. It is a very peaceful town, with very low crime, and not a lot of noise. If you are looking for a town that is peaceful, quiet, and not rambunctious, then Colchester is the place to live.[read more...] |

A Nice Place to Live and Work - 3/25/2008
Colchester is located in the south-central portion of Connecticut about 30 minutes east of the capital of Hartford. Our downtown area is situated around a large town green that houses various activities year around. Here you will find everything from free summer concerts and tag sales to car shows and circuses. In December, Santa arrives at the green on a fire truck to light the big tree and listen to your children's wish list. Thanks to an effective Parks and Recreation Commission, there is always something to do in town. The large town Recreation Complex features various ball fields as well as a spray park and skate park. This complex also has free high-speed wireless Internet throughout that allows parents to bring their laptop and relax online while the kids play.
