property values and taxes are high. for a shoe box plan on spending 300K, plus 10K per year in property taxes. and all of this to live in a total gridlock. the people are aggressive and withdrawn typically. schools seem pretty good however. [read more...] |

Great place to live if you can afford it. - 8/5/2008
I have been planning to relocate to a southern state because of cost of living, and also because I don't like so much snow. Otherwise, Milford is great; I grew up here, and have lived here for 43 years. There is always something to do, Milford Center is beautiful, the beaches are very nice, and I love the annual Milford Oyster Festival. Homes are getting expensive, though still not as much as Fairfield County (Milford is in New Haven County)and fuel prices are some of the highest in the country; that goes for most of Connecticut. Route 1 goes through Milford, so we do get a lot of traffic on the weekends, which is mostly for the mall.[read more...] |
