We have lived in cocoa FL for 7yrs and rockledge before cocoa for 20yrs,we now live in cocoa,it's a very dirty town has nothing to offer,the crime yet unreported most.The crime is high and the drug problem is terrible.We are looking to move in the next two years as I don't want my grand children to grow up in this place I don't even like calling it home,the property around us is eaither empty or dirty,the jobs there are none!!!The law in forcement are terrilbe and treat everyone like your guilty.I can't wait to get out of here the only thing I will miss and my grand babies will be Disney but we can always hop on a plane.I so sorry that we decidied to make this dirty place our home or choose to live we plan on heading north my hole family,CT I think and I grew up there a beautiful place close to NY,if we choose to go to the city,good luck finding a great place to live I guess it's ture live and learn.WE HATE COCOA dirtist place I have seen.......nothing here[read more...]

I wish to thank those who recognized Cocoa, Florida as one of the top ten places to live. As a Resident of Cocoa, for over 30 years, I am glad this city is finally getting the recognition it deserves. With everyones idea of Florida being overcrowded Beaches and strips of Condo's it is nice to see Historic Cocoa with quaint little town of Historic Cocoa Village that is well noted for Day Trips and Art Fairs being recognized. I live in a Historic Home built by a famous Miami Architect in the 1920's, there is a great quality of Life here and low cost of Living. For anyone seeking a quiet, nice town that is affordable and offers a great Cultural Lifestyle, they need to explore the optiions in Cocoa Florida.[read more...]

I am searching desperately to find a place out of florida especially brevard county area to move. Cocoa is a white trash,redneck sort of place The city seems to hate the idea of expansion,cops are ticket happy for 5 miles over and it is a very corrupt area,bums all over if all you want to do is party and hang at the beach,pay alot for food/housing mostly OLD homes then it would be perfect for you. You are hard pressed to find anything healthy to eat here gyms are all nasty and dirty by 9pm everything is closed unless you want to hit a cheesy strip club or bar.Sorry but this is hell for me and i have been doing alot of research trying to find a place to live where i can feel alive and maybe even date. I don't live in Cocoa, but I wish I did. This village is like the set of Pleasantville. The historic downtown area is lined with quaint antique shops, beautiful boutiques, old-fashioned ice-cream parlors, and charming restaurants. The streets are tree-lined; the architecture is restored; and the historic playhouse still offers live performances. At the center of it all is a riverfront park with a bandstand for free outdoor concerts and a launch ramp for boats. The main library nearby is in an ideal location along the river, with a wide expanse of lawn and lots of shady trees--perfect for a leisurely afternoon of reading. A few miles away is Brevard Community College, which is more like a small university. Among the modern buildings on campus are a child development center, a solar energy center, a lifelong learning center, a planetarium and observatory. The commercial district of Cocoa is more rundown, but the homes all along Indian River drive are beautiful. In addition to great weather and proximity to water sports, all the attractions of Orlando are less than an hour away. I could see myself happily living here.[read more...]
