Mount Dora-A Unique Community - 5/7/2007
Mount Dora, Florida is an active community for retirees. Amid the hills, it appears to be a New England village or a thriving midwestern town. It has a wonderfully unique business district with gift shops and antique shops. There is the largest lawn bowling club in the country with friendly members from all over the country and the UK. Golf courses are within easy travel. The weather is wonderful during the winter months. It is a great place to be part of the grassroots of a community.[read more...] |

Perfect weather - Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb - 7/22/2006
Here in Central Florida, for me, the weather is wonderful in the winter. I do not enjoy the summer weather as it is very hot and humid but the winter is ideal! I ride a motorcycle almost everyday so I experience the weather first hand. The winter is cool with comfortable humidity. There a couple nights when it gets into the 30's but mostly you don't need a jacket. I use my A/C year round though much less in the winter but there is probably only 14 days a year that I can get away without needing to cool the house at all. I don't really open the windows too often.
The summer you can count on thunderstorms and lightning. The rain is nice in that everything is green and lush plus it cools it down dramatically.[read more...] |
