From October to April ( Dry season ) : When we get our least amount of rain and the least amount of mosquitoes, the least amount of humidity, and our chances for severe hurriance or tropipcal storms is least likely. Dry season is the best time and for some the only time of the year to grow home grown vegetables. Dry season temps can be as high as 90's and as low as 33's. most often is between day time 60-80 , evenings 60-50... Our Autumn colors do appear in abundance in the everglades where we have red maples in abundance. Natives trees are replanted back into the urban sprawl so autumn colors are returning... but for years people have opt to plant non native plants which has eliminated our native plant autumn season in most city locations. Sea grapes turn bright red, maroon, orange, yellow etc during the coldest of months (Jan- feb). During the dry season most plants go through a de-foliage peroid where they dont need as moany leaves to soak up the rains so the leaves drop, non natives are not very pretty leaves... When april comes around the temps tend to stay around 70-90, with higher chances of rain. As summer wet season returns ..life changes from dry to wet season. The trees drop their leaves in shock and start releaf in abundance to catch the rain they expect to receive in the coming months. Weeds, lawn grass, all plant life needs a constant mow, trim, and weed and feed with the sudden life that has returned after months or dormancy. tropical storms and chances of hurricanes increase with high ocean temps.[read more...]
