the good and the bad - 7/31/2009
Bloomingdale is considered a south-west suburb of Chicago. It's climate is much milder than the Northern suburbs. It is a relatively safe community and definitely very ethnic diverse. While it has it's "hi-fuluting" living and golf areas. It seems to be generally blue-collar workers. What makes it convenient is it's accessibility to Tollway I355 North and South with connections to all the other highways.
The Health care is terrible. Bad/inept doctors in every catagory. No natural healthcare in the area. Nearest hospital in Elk Grove is terrible and also has lousy doctors. Also, because Bloomingdale abuts up to Addison, Carol Stream and Glendale Heights the traffic is heavy.[read more...] |

RETIRED - 9/12/2006
I have lived in Bloomingdale, IL. since 1973 and have moved around the same neighborhood 4 times, all about in a 4 block radius, all have been 3 bedroom townhomes with association fees...etc.
I have a son and daughter in law in Rogers, Arkansas whom we visit several times a year. As soon as my wife can pull herself away from the great job she has here, we plan on moving to the Rogers/Springdale, Ark. area(within the next 4-5 years.
I found the comparisons between Rogers and Bloomingdale very helpful and on the plus side for us when we looked at the real estate values and property taxes.
Great website and fantastic stats.
