The historic center of des plaines is also downtown. Fairly easy commute to Chicago. The metra is right there. Also there is the Des Plaines public library with a great wealth of books and other media. There are several small parks and forest preserves nearby. Several restaurants, though not exceptional, offer a variety of cuisines. I notice several different ethnic groups in the area. See several people of eastern European descent as well as Asians including East Indians. Would recommend living here if you are young and just settling down.[read more...] |

Our schools are excellent . The grade school is Mark Twain district 63 in Niles . The middle School Is Gemini in niles and the high School is rated in the top 5% Maine East High School in Park Ridge.[read more...] |
