I amy trying to respond to your posting:
My grandparents lived in the house across from the Sidney School. My grandfather was the head custodian. He had owned the gas station which was his welding shop prior to this. I spent many summers there and we could take a quarter to Slater's a buy a big brown bag full of candy. We would sled on the school hill and eat ice cream at the fire station for their annual ice cream social. My grandfather was the fire chief for several years. We have a picture of he and I with the new fire truck in the 1960's. They were great times.[read more...] |
