SperlingViews - Decatur, Indiana

Major life line factories in this town are laying off big time. I know the unemployment rate is much higher than listed, because hundreds of people are being laid off or fired within the last year. This town is not doing well at all. You used to be able to get decent pay and a good amount of hours here, but lately people have been demoted or they've had their hours at work cut a great deal. It's really affecting everyone at this point. It seems that everyone knows at least one person that has lost their job recently, and in a small town like this people talk. Decatur used to seem like it was growing, but with the economy going down the toilet everywhere it's hitting here pretty hard.[read more...]
