I have been living in Concord for the last 10 years. Up until 3 years ago, the area was very prosperous. The reason for lack of jobs is due to loss of RV buisnesses. Gradually these are coming back. The school system is wonderful with caring teachers and administrators. This area has a mix of Caucasian, african American, and Hispanics. The school offers many sports, bands, and choirs. Concord is primarily Republican and the area is very supportive of those involved in Church activities.[read more...]

it's interesting that this location is somewhat pricy when it comes to cost of living...there isn't much beauty here, nothing attractive outside the window, not many opportunities in education, work, housing, etc. but for a single female student working full time and trying to go to school also full time, you can't find a studio apartment plus the cost of utilities for under $650. I am from California so compared to there it is "cheap" but I would easily pay that amt anywhere else but here. This is because this place truly hasn't much to offer. well....at least for me. actually this info is out of date.Houses here on the average can be around $50000.But if you are willing to live in the hood it can be $7000 for a two story house.However last year a new homeowner was fixing up his house and was shot and robbed.The crime rate here is risng.The public school sucks.They are small prisons with lousy teachers.Also unemployment is now at 15.3% . All the jobs are filled by illegals.Except the few rich pricks who drive the slaves.[read more...]
