Noblesville Overall - 6/25/2010
It shows Noblesville has an average of 16 students per teacher, but this is very misleading! I have never, in the past 11 years I've had students in Noblesville Schools seen a classroom with that few students. There is always 20 or more per classroom. Most rate on a PER CLASSROOM basis -this is giving them a loophole to also include others in the BUILDING with teacher licenses that probably never deal with the students.
There are very few jobs above minimum wage anywhere in Noblesville. Meth & something called "chronic" which I'm told is a form of marijuana run rampant throughout Noblesville, and especially at the high school! The school board contains 3 members that all attend First United Methodist Church, and 2 other members who state they are also of the same faith, and I've noticed that textbooks -especially honors history, contain a very extremely christian conservative slant. They make it very easy for kids to drop out at age 16, providing them with easy access to a "computer based" school they can finish with. Noblesville schools fall far behind the times in academic advancement - more focus on how pretty the buildings are I think - the only computer class is "keyboarding" for freshman level students who have been building websites and online collages since age 6. The students are NOT competitive for higher level colleges when they leave, most have to take a year at IUPUI, before transferring to other universities, many get into IU, or Ball State easily but that's it.
Noblesville has a wide range of income levels, with most, in more recent years than what they quote here being below national/state average. There is NO DEMOCRATIC representation to speak of -mostly republican area, so if you want representation and you are a democrat -you don't want to be here -it's the gentlemens club to the extreme, and completely represents that in a snapshot of the huge separation in income levels - either below average income levels, or the few rich -very little in between. Smoking is a huge epidemic here in Noblesville, and so are tattoos. How on earth we keep getting put at the top of the "family friendly" type charts is beyond me! Most families in Noblesville, can't wait to get their kids away from here, but can't afford it.[read more...] |
