SperlingViews - Richmond, Indiana

Richmond is an attractive city for the most part, but for its population there is way to much crime. The police seem to worry more about petty issues like driving infractions instead of patrolling high crime areas. That's just my take on it because I have lived here for about 10 years and even worked at the police department. It would be nice to see police presence in the cities known high crime areas. Richmond is a great city homes here are very reasonable to buy. We have great parks. And lots of things to do for a town our size. I was born here so were my parents and their parents moved here in there 20s. But like many towns our size we have lost most are jobs of our parent’s days. And our city leaders have no clue how to move in to the next job growths. They have sat with their hands over their eyes as Richmond has gone from a once great city to a dieing one. Our present mayor things going our and helping to pull weeds and push a broom around town makes every thing better. We need some one with insight and of good character that will put bringing GOOD JOBS their first and main concern. And that will putt the right people in places of leadership that have the same drive to make theirs the best department it can be for the citizens of Richmond, and not just a good paying job for themselves and their friends and family. We have some good people in this town that if given the chance can and will help to bring back the Richmond that I knew and loved. Where our kids can walk down any street and not be attacked, robbed or raped but we need to make these changes in our leaders soon or we may never get back the city that some of us still remember as being safe and a great place to live and bring up your kids.[read more...]

There is nothing wrong with Richmond other than the crackheads that are running it to the grown so if you are looking for a better future look no further, better yourself and stop blaming the town. Grab a piece of your heritage and value what you have and what came from the town.[read more...]

I live in Richmond Indiana and it effing sucks! It's too damned hard to get a job at 18, and if you do, you had better hold onto it with your dear life, because it'll be the last one you'll have. If anyone often gets on here, take my advice and turn the opposite drection if you're planning on moving to Richmond.[read more...]
