not great but there are worse - 6/24/2011
This town has recently (meaning past 3 decades) been known as a town of elderly, welfare, and taverns (NOT nightclubs,,,,, taverns). They have tried to revive it and there are a clicky group of self stated city leaders who try to make it something else, but hard to ever change it too much with almost no jobs, many elderly who are not wealthy (else they would be somewhere else), and many poor. Taverns are typically filled with those who are low income trying to drown their sorrows.
It used to have a leading school district for academics but even that slowly has declined where classes offered are simply basic and not top level college prep. [read more...] |
