Derby, Kansas Climate - 8/20/2006
The climate in Derby (suburb of Wichita, KS) is moderate to warm. Winters are rearly very cold. Zero degrees only at night we have lived here 11 years and only seen 0 degrees twice. It is easy to play golf or bicycle 12 months a year.
Spring is generally wet and windy. Summers are warm to damn hot 105 is not uncommon. Humidity is lower than the Eastern US. Wind is constant. Tornados are way over hyped. In a bad year there maybe 5-6 tornado warnings with maybe 2 actually doing any damage to a home or two. You have a much bigger chance of being hurt in your monster SUV than being hurt by a tornado.[read more...] |
