Housing - 6/9/2010
We went to Dodge City on a job interview and liked the place until we got down to talking with the realtor. I don't know where they came up with the median housing cost, but what we were shown were very "average" to poor quality homes that were severely over-priced and packed into neighborhoods like sardines. There is a severe housing shortage and there is no sign of any new homes being constructed unless you like living in an apartment or condo at exhorbitant prices. Pros:
1. Low crime rate
2. Extremely low cost of living and housing
3. Affordable place to live
4. Old Western town atmosphere
Cons:
1. Very poor school system
2. Not much to do
