Pros:
1. Low cost of living and housing
2. Affordable place to live
3. Home to Fort Riley Military Reservation
Cons:
1. High crime rate
2. Poor school system
3. Not much to do
4. Bad weather

Military Town - 10/1/2006
My young family lived in Junction City for a little over 2 years. It is a very military-oriented town with little other to offer employment-wise. Most people I knew there were in school over in Manhattan on the other side of Fort Riley. For the outdoorsy-type, there are a few lakes around with camping, fishing, hunting, watersports, etc....
