looking for a few old friends - 2/10/2010
i live in kiowa back in 1973 or 74 my step father name was roy garcia .work for bill anderson in a tv sho on main st i think .iwent to school there,ibelieve the 5th or 6th grade. i had some friends name timothy door ,scott noble and some more i cant remember. bill had a daughter name michell.i sure would like to get in touch with any of them just to see how there doing nthere families.my name at that time was david garcia.thank you.[read more...] |

School funding...Where does it go??? - 5/29/2009
I just read that the city if Kiowa pays $6,900 (Est)per year per student, and the average cost in the US is $6,000. There are approximately 155 students in the elementary school. I would like to know what they (Kiowa) are spending this money on?
Certainly not on maintenance of a building that provides brown water in the bathrooms to wash their hands with, and certainly not on field trips. My child had NO FIELD TRIPS during the entire school year.
Also, it certainly could not be on the school lunch program that tries to feed my kids nothing but processed foods and high fat breakfasts and lunches. Thankfully, my child will no longer be a part of their school, district next year.
On a positive note, the teachers are for the most part loving and care about the students.[read more...] |
