We Love Pineville, Louisiana - 2/8/2011
Pineville, Love it or Leave it. My family moved from the country to Pineville in 1960. Took a while but got used to living in town and love it. Moved away for a short time but moved back to the area 8 years later. Missed home. Lived in Alexandria ( across the river) 23 years but moved back to Pineville 24 years later. Nothing to do and no jobs - 1/25/2011
I have lived in this area for over half of my life. Other than the zoo, a small mall, a movie theater, and a bowling alley, there is nothing to do! You have to drive 4 hours away to find something even remotely interesting. Jobs? What jobs? In the past 2 years I've only been able to find 1 job and it was at Dollar General. This town has no growth, no jobs, no recreation, and a terrible teacher to student ratio.

The weather here is perfect for us. Hot in the summer, short winter. Rarely get snow or ice. We are from the South and love the Gulf Coast region. Some people not from the South may not like the heat and humidity.[read more...] |
