In Montgomery County, Burtonsville has it's own small park, and close access to several more, giving resitidents a multitude of outdoor activities easily accessable. The county also offers many affordable indoor classes and activities at rec centers, and the metro provides easy access to Washington, DC offering all the culture and activities of city life. Summers actually seem to be milder recenntly, with fewer sweltering 100 degree days than I recall in my Maryand youth. Temperatures typically peak in mid August in the high 90s.[read more...]

Burtonsville is an unicorporated area of Montgomery County and is identified by the Post Office name and zip-code 20866. Burtonsville is close to I-95 (and has its own exit), which puts it a short driving distance to Baltimore-Washington Airport, and Baltimore itself and reasonable short to Washington, DC The far west side of the county is more oppulent, but Burtonsville is solidly middle-class and above. The schools are run by the county and are competetive at the county level, but not outstanding. The town center is not very attractive but is always under study for improvement.[read more...]
