Way too expensive for the offerings - 7/6/2008
Damascus is located in the "prestigious" Montgomery County MD, located between Washington DC and Baltimore MD. One of the problems is that Damascus is upper northern Montgomery County so it is relatively far from DC and yet the taxes are outrageous. There are also few things to demonstrate what our taxes are being used for. Damascus has two supermarkets, a post office, library, a few fast food restaurants, schools but no shops, limited parks. Everything of interest is down county but everyone pays a lot! I better idea might be to live in Frederick, especially if you can find a job there or close by, the dollar goes further and there is more "green space", reasonable real estate prices and it is easier to get to points of interest.[read more...] |

beautiful surrounding countryside, lots of amenities concentrated nearby, and great natural recreation within 12 to 50 minutes: forest preserve, golf, C&O Canal tow path for biking & hiking, Sugarloaf Mountain, camping. A great area for those interested in country living, nature, while working in the big cities of Wash DC & Baltimore MD.[read more...] |
