The DC metro area is in my opinion is one of the finest places to live. The options for entertainment, education, dining, and outdoor recreation are second to none. I grew up in Anne Arundel county, specifically Crofton, which is about an hour away from where i currently reside (Germantown). Altough crofton did have alot to do being approximately 1/2 hour away from both baltimore and DC, it didnt really have a strong community feel or much ethnic diviersity whatsoever. Moving to Germantown gave me a taste of what the real DC metro area is like, with a diverse population and ample opportunities for experiencing different cultures that I was not given residing in Crofton.[read more...]

I miss Germantown! - 11/1/2008

I recently relocated to the midwest after living in Germantown for five years and I miss it. While it is not an especially lively place to live, it is certainly liveable and convenient to commuting into D.C. The neighborhoods are nicely laid out, the parks are beautiful and there are enough stores and restaurants in the area to make it an enjoyable place to live.
