Having moved from one of the largest urban areas in the country, PF seems like little more than a wide spot in the road to me. Progress comes entirely too slow to this place. It is very frustrating. It is very hard to manage to have a comfortable quality of life here--you must drive an hour at least to get to any decent shopping or medical facilities. There are very few nice restaurants. We actually had a 400 lb drunk collapse on the floor in front of us at a local restaurant on a MONDAY night--if that tells you anything! It is mostly fast or fried food here--not healthy. If you can buy one of the more expensive homes here, the schools are among the best in the state. One point in PF's favor, living back in the woods is very soothing. There are some nice people here but there sure are some real, rude rednecks and some of the worst drivers I've ever seen! They also also real litterbugs--I am really disgusted by that.[read more...]
