Franklin, Massachusetts Finally Gets Noticed - 9/28/2008
The locals have always known that this town is affordable, family-oriented and easily accessible by train or several highways but only a year ago did the town achieve national recognition. Both CNN Money magazine and Family Circle cited the town in their respective articles. Family Circle voted Franklin in its top 10 towns out of 100 to raise a family. They noted its several cultural events, great schools and more. CNN Money awarded the town based on being a best place to live and work, as they mentioned its close proximity to excellent employment opportunities (major companies such as EMC, Keebler, Putnam, etc.).
Housing continues to remain relatively affordable and taxes are lower than most of the surrounding towns. There are presently 140 single family homes for buyers to choose from and the average days on the market is 140 days (from listing to closing).
Franklin is a beautiful small town with a population of about 33,000 and is located just 35 miles southwest of Boston, MA and 25 miles north of Providence, Rhode Island. The town is definitely worth a second look and allows for a small-town feel with easy access to the city but without the exorbitant costs of city living.[read more...] |

The only thing about Massachusetts is, why are people so rude? This has to be one of the rudest places in the country, based on my experience.

A nice, peaceful place to live. Convenient to Boston, Cape Cod, and the NH/VT mountains.[read more...] |
