Recently moved to Lynn - 10/8/2011

Hey there. I recently moved to Lynn and I am already liking it. For who lived in ten different States in US, I can tell that here you will find a very unique little suburb area, with a beautiful cost to explore. Remember, downtown is a place that you won't wanna be at night in EVERY CITY. I live 2 blocks from the beach, got a beautiful place for rent very reasonable, very quiet and friendly neighborhood. I walk only 5 min to Commute Rail. During the cold days you can park there for only U# 3.00 (all day). The train takes me to North Station in only 22 min. Then I walk only 5 min to work. So, I can tell you I love the commute. You may not have the best restaurants in the World in here, or move theaters but in 5 to 10 min you are in the next town with many options- or take the train and in 20 min you can enjoy Boston. I am still exploring the area- please some suggestions? Thank you for reading![read more...]

Weather - 2/12/2010

Area does have much nice weather. It mists or drizzles here very often in the summer, I've seen it stick around for as long as 2 weeks. Cold in the winter and crowded population wise. Public trans is hard to beat. Lots of stuff to do in Boston.[read more...]

Location Location Location - 12/24/2009

I recently moved to Lynn to stay connected to the Hub. It has a beautiful historic downtown (which I hear people avoid like the plague), nice parks and beaches and sidewalks galore. People tend to lump Lynn with the other towns in MA that begin with L... but our proximity to Boston and the beautiful Atlantic coast are advantages only some MA towns have. The downside is there is no direct route into Lynn and the roads here are designed for the bypass of this great community. I live completely without a car and no trouble getting to the areas I need, albeit costly. One last thought. We need to get shaw's out of downtown Lynn. This place blatantly tells is it doesn't need our money when they can price gouge the public. I treck to Market Basket in Salem.[read more...]

don't judge a book by it's cover - 7/21/2009

I was born and bred in Lynn, MA. Granted, I moved away 19 years ago, but I could not be more proud of my background. My maternal grandmother was one of the very first Vogue cover models as well as my mother also being a Vogue model from age 17 until she died when I was three. My paternal grandparents were also very successful printers and business owners in the city of Lynn for well over 50 years. Maybe my memories are a little tainted from not living there on a day to day basis, however, whenever I go home (at least twice a year)I love to look out the airplane window and see the lights on the horizon and know that I am going to be on 1A almost immediately. Loving Lynn Massachusetts[read more...]

No quality of life - 7/20/2008

I lived in Lynn my entire life. I moved to NH 3 years ago. Thank-God! Lynn is high in taxes, crowded and depressing! The downtown area is frightening and not someplace anyone would want to go especially at night. There is nothing for teens to do. Only shopping area is a large Walmart, no movie theaters, one bowling alley-downtown, no good restaurants, zip. The main library reeks of urine and never has current or diversified reading material. Most of the smaller libraries are closed and turned into other businesses. Growing up in Lynn makes you feel inferior. Living in Lynn is depressing[read more...]

I love Lynn! - 2/3/2007

It is diverse and has a great walkway by the ocean. The houses and architechture in the diamond district are beautiful. I have a wonderful one bedroom apt. a block from the ocean for only $770. It's worth the commute into Boston![read more...]
