people - 1/25/2010

The people in this town are very closed minded. This is not a progressive town. Trust me, I know, I have lived here for almost 11 years, unfortunately. The majority of the people here are life long residents that still live in the era of Orville Hubbard. They do not want change and they are not nice people. For example, if you take your puppy for a walk in this town, most people frown and scowl at you and the senior citizens are the worst. If you would like to live in a town where the people are friendly and open minded, Dearborn is not the place to be.[read more...]

Levagood Park Area - 11/24/2009

We love our neighborhood. Family-friendly, lots of kids, good schools. We're getting more diversity (finally). Housing values have fallen sharply though with all the white collar layoffs at Ford. You can get a great deal on a house![read more...]

Better than Detroit, but still not so great. - 7/25/2008

I've lived here for 2 years now with my husband (his company transferred us here) and have yet to find a job (my background is customer service). I realize that it's tough all over, but it seems INCREDIBLY tough here. Recently there was a job fair in Dearborn and over 600 people showed up, MANY of which were there at 7:30am (it didn't open until 11am). Most of the employers were looking for bilingual applicants, so although there were jobs to fill many people weren't qualified based on their lack of knowledge of any foreign language. You can actually read about it here: http://detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080717/METRO01/807170420[read more...]

Dearborns not crime ridden - 3/4/2008

what are you talking about. Lol anyone that doesnt lock there doors have got to be stupid, even areas in Novi, and West Bloomfield you have to lock your doors, if you dont your asking for it. 48124 is still one of the better places in southeast michigan you fool. Whenever anything happens to someone in Dearborn they magnify the hell out of it and pretend how bad it is. Untill I cant feel comfortable walking around than its ok. It usually only happens to careless people that dont lock there doors, theyre like, wow now I have to lock my doors, what kind of city is this. Do you see how stupid that sounds.[read more...]

Regional Transportation - 8/7/2007

Our region - the Metro Detroit area - sorely lacks a convenient and efficient regional transportation system. For the Detroit Area to grow in terms of attracting businesses and conventions we must have a solution to this problem. Other metropolitan areas of similar size have made the investment and it has paid off for them.[read more...]
