Probably one of the best educational districts in - 3/22/2011
Brand new schools loaded with high technology; teachers are well paid and are good. Best test of any school is how much kids enjoy going and mine love going to school--even when they have a lot of homework. What impresses me the most is the fact these kids are studying material 2-3 grades above what we would consider normal and they can handle it. No doubt having easy access to technology and a curriculum that integrates the use of technology with their daily work makes this achievable. The teachers seem very comfortable with using technology. Also, Saline schools goes to great links to bring in reputable instructors. I believe they have one of the best culinary teachers in the state and a long waiting list to get into his class.
Make no mistake though, good education isn't cheap. Saline property taxes on top of state income and sales taxes make for an above average cost-of-living. [read more...] |

2007 Buyers Market - 2/6/2007
As a Realtor I can tell you that the market is saturated with homes for sale at great prices! With the "big three" laying off and Pfizer closing nearby there are many families making changes. However, Toyota is moving in right down the street, Google and many other businesses continue to move to the area. The taxes are not cheap but more affordable than other areas. The school district is an excellent one, University of Michigan in Ann Arbor is only five miles away so this suburb is a terrific value with sporting events in abundance, museums, concerts, art fairs and more.
