Not An Asthmatic's Best Friend - 2/23/2014
Michigan is a beautiful state with great parks and fantastic lakes. Surrounded on three sides by water and with consistent precipitation year-round, there is potential for high levels of mold especially in summer. Look at The Weather Channel's mold spore count during August for Michigan.

As a result I have developed asthma living here in Michigan. I live on a watershed which results in mold on the house, drive and fencing. Powerwashing is a must. But I also breath the spores. The winters are cold, which triggers an asthma attack. The summers are hot and humid with higher mold spore count than most areas of the US, which triggers an asthma attack. Great environment - 10/21/2010
This fall has been beautiful with lots of sun, Fall in SE Michigan is beautiful in general, it is one of the things I love the most about living here. Winter isn't so bad, and South Lyon is a fast commute to Ann Arbor. Recently South Lyon has hosted many more local events (farmer's market, downtown events) that have really brought excitement to the city. Plus the people are very friendly. Variety, but too cold for us! - 8/4/2008
We are looking to move because although you get 4 seasons here, the winter is too long and weather tends to be extreme. I took a college class which confimed that the climate in SW Michigan in unusual for its extreme temperature changes through the seasons. Our biggest complaint is too much cold with too few sunny days from fall through spring. Tornados do come through here, but tend to strike harder to our south, near the MI/OH border.
