Clinton, a small city west of Jackson, Mississippi, is an excellent retirement locale -- housing options are varied and affordable, crime in Clinton is low, local schools are excellent, the city is home to Mississippi College and only a few miles from Hinds Community College in Raymond, Mississippi. The population figures being touted by city hall indicate a recent surge of growth within the city limits. This growth is entirely due to a large and bitterly fought annexation by the city, and not an infusion of new citizens moving in willingly.[read more...] |

City Government oppressive - 6/3/2006
Clinton has a very oppressive city govenment who became nationally known with the "treehouse fiasco", the details of which can be viewed at: www.saveourtreehouse.com Recently passed ordinances as well as the annexation and taxation of large farms and several bond issuance problems have many citizens up in arms. Many familys have left the city or are planning to in the near future due to the aggressive and arrogant programs of the current mayor.[read more...] |
