Scenic adventures - 2/21/2011
Tonopah sits in the middle of the lower part of the state, almost equal distance between Reno and Las Vegas in the high desert. The town itself isn't much to look at, but one must look past the “junk” to find the historic value of what was once a mining boomtown in the middle of the high desert.
The inconvenience of living 200 miles from the nearest city is compensated by the natural beauty and geologic wonders of the Great Basin and Mojave Desert.
