A well-kept secret retreat from frenzied city life - 1/31/2009
The Lebanon/Hanover, New Hampshire community is often rated among the best places to live in the country. Population, however, remains a scant 20,000 or so. We enjoy the benefits of hosting Dartmouth College (whose alumni flock here in retirement), a world-class medical center (Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center), theater & arts, recreational opportunities, and a beau colic country setting. Employment opportunities include high-tech, education, finance, medical, retail, and a smattering of manufacturing. Schools must be good, as graduates attend top colleges across the country. Additionally, if the living gets to tranquil, a two-hour drive will take you to Boston in one direction and Burlington, Vermont in the other.
