Freehold Borough - A Great Place to live. I ought - 1/8/2010

Karen's is an old review and is suspect to begin with. It implies that Freehold Borough is somehow less desirable than Freehold Township. Karen is speaking in vague generalities (she offers no facts to support her claims). She even attempts to turn Freehold's positives into weakenesses. It is, in fact, Freehold Borough's diversity and ethnic flavor that give the town a unique character all its own...and - this - in a very positive way. The sense of Freehold Borough's Neighborhood Pride runs very deep and if you are looking for a "Mayberry RFD" type of town, in which there is a strong sense of community and volunteerism, Freehold Borough is the place to live. St. Rose of Lima is a wonderful parish. There is a beautiful historic church dating to the 1800s and a newer modern chapel. St. Rose has a parochial school as well. There is a solid welcoming community for parish activities.[read more...]

You should know that there are two Freeholds in NJ: Freehold Boro and Freehold Township. The boro is much more urban with a very diverse population of people, a higher crime rate, lower per capita income, and lesser quality elementary schools. The township is more suburban, with a more homogeneous population, a lower crime rate, higher per capita income, and excellent elementary schools.
