Small town life at the shore - 3/9/2008
My family lived here for some time and found the town suffocating. We are well educated, and added value to the neighborhood with a beautiful remodel to our home. My children were well behaved and social in school but bullied for being different. The administration looked the other way.
The property values are declining and so is the town. This is not the American Dream. This is a declining place for people who lack tolerance and fear differences.
The elementary school can't fill their spaces with property owners and is importing students from other towns. The secret is, you can't be disabled to qualify.
This is a place to walk on by, pass up and be glad you never settled.[read more...] |

Nice area, wonderful beaches, just way too expensi - 7/1/2006
The Spring Lake/Spring Lake Heights area as with much of the Jersey shore is changing. A lot of the older beach bungelows/cotteges are being torn down or having additions added on to them in the same way that most of NJ favors huge homes for new construction.
