Cost of Living in Huntington Township - 6/27/2010
It's expensive to live here. Property taxes are high.
Nice 4 seasons if you don't mind cold winters. Heating is expensive.
Summers are my favorite time of year, but as I get older, the humidity is starting to bother me.

Home for 27 years - 7/15/2009
I was born and raised in the Dix Hills section of Huntington Station, New York. I feel like I had a priviledged childhood. Crime is low, education is high, culture/nightlife is high, etc. However, the cost of living is unbearable. I cannot afford to buy a similar home (1 acre=$800k+9k taxes eck) in this neighborhood or really anywhere close to it. A $400k starter home, no land, and high taxes is not my idea of a good start.[read more...] |
