Housing Costs/Taxes - 11/16/2007
I've lived and owned a business in Pine Plains for 20 years and brought up two children here. It's a wonderful place to have a family. Unfortunately, the cost of housing and taxes in the Dutchess County area has gone up so much that it's forcing us to move. My taxes have doubled in 5 years. It's hard to move away from such a beautiful area that has been my families home for twenty years. The only thing I will not miss is the long cold winters.[read more...] |
