Garner/Clayton Area Housing - 3/2/2011
One of the best areas in the Triangle Region of North Carolina for cost effective housing. Since the RE bust in 2008 home prices have fallen across the country. The Garner/Clayton area, while losing some value, still surpasses most of the country in maintaining value. Our homes generally come with 1/4 lot minimums and many neighborhoods start at 1/2 acre in the $150-200K price range. Even our tract buildters do not build identical homes next to each other on the same street. Schools have maintained a low teacher/student ratio and provide many educational options for all students.
Choose from the many resale homes that are available or have one built for you with your specs. Allow at least 6 months for the build after contract.
For a town you can live in and be a part of, come to Garner and Clayton to enjoy life.[read more...] |

Garner area or Johnston County - 2/21/2007
I moved here about a year ago from FL and love it. We chose Johnston County as opposed to Wake County due to the tax base and the schools. The cost of a home out here is very cheap for what you get and you also get more property (1.25 acres) as opposed to Wake County. We chose a home with an "A" elementary and middle school, Cleveland Middle and Elementary. Major stores such as Target, Best Buy, Pier One, etc are merely one exit away. I work in downtown Raleigh and it only takes me 25 minutes to get to work, museums and tons of restaurants. The weather here gives you four distinct seasons, which was what we were looking for. There are tons of places to camp and hike within a one hour drive. Large malls are within a 40 minute drive due to some traffic around those areas. The downside for living here is that there is smoking in all restaurants and I am not used to that, as I am not a smoker. This is the tabacco belt afterall. There is also a 2% tax on food, of all things. And of course there is a state income tax here in NC But you can ot beat the price for a home here.[read more...] |

I'm Coming Back Home to Garner - 5/8/2006
Hi. I currently live in Hollywood, Florida and truly love it; however, I've decided to return to Garner where I lived for 7 years. The grass is really not greener here. Garner's housing costs are so much more affordable and values are climbing. I'm looking forward to returning to a slower life style.[read more...] |
