This is a great little community. It is situated in a rural environment, yet a fair bit of this town borders on Lake Norman, a man-made lake built over 30 years ago by Duke Energy, which draws people from all over to this area. Sherrills Ford is only about 30 minutes from Hickory, Lincolnton, Statesville and Charlotte which makes urban access quite easy. There are generally good family values and morals in this area and cost of living is fairly reasonable. However, the flip side is that, because of the above, the area has become quite the melting pot and growth has created congestion and overcrowding on the roads, schools and other infra-structure requirements of a successful community. Overall, most people feel that this is a nice place to live, work and raise/enjoy family.[read more...] |
