SperlingViews - Cache, Oklahoma

We have lived in this ragged, pothole-ridden town for a little over a year. When you call the police you get an answering machine because they don't pay for enough police, even though the water bill is much higher than it should be, which is not used to clean up the substandard, non-compliant water. It also does not pay for town cleanup. Back to the point, since we've been here, the streetlight was shot out on our block and since it was vandalized too many times, the town refused to pay for it so my neighbor pays for it on her electric bill. We have had a weedeater stolen from our shed, our water hose cut in our front yard, our van gas cap was left opened last night after someone decided they needed our gas, right out in the street under the light. Our neighbor's gas cans were stolen from beside his front door in the middle of the day with kids watching as witnesses. Though it's not as bad as the vicious crimes in Lawton Ok, Cache is not a good place to live. [read more...]
